Education

An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
A first-level university degree and no experience will be accepted for candidates who have passed the Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P).

Work Experience

A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in international relations, social or political affairs, finance, administration, budget, business administration or related area, OR the successful completion of the United Nations Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P) is required.
Work experience in project management is desirable.
Work experience with multilateral organizations and/a field environment is desirable.
Work experience with the United Nations System or similar international organization is desirable.
Work experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is desirable.
Work experience with SAP based applications (such as the in-house ‘Umoja’ or other) is desirable.
Work experience with standard IT software/applications (MS Word, Excel etc.) is desirable.
Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the
post advertised, fluency in English and Arabic is required. Knowledge of another United
Nations official language is an advantage.
