Description
1. Promotes optimum patient health and well-being.
– Identifies, promotes and assists patients to understand major determinants of health.

– Reduces the risk of disease transmission through applying universal standard infection control principles.

Other (Specific duties and responsibilities):
– Observes and documents patient condition and reaction to drugs and treatment and reports the same to the physician and family.
– Ensures proper cleaning and equipment maintenance.
– Prepares the patient and equipment needed and aids physician during examination, treatment and testing at home.
– Screens patients for symptoms, problems and other appropriate information; records new patient information including health history and allergies to medications in the patient chart.
– Documents current medications, health problems and allergies.
– Administers medication to patients only on direct physician order.
– Ensure adherence to the scheduled appointment and follow ups at the referred facility.
– Keeps patient room clean and orderly; restocks supplies and medications as necessary.
– Monitoring and inventory of supplies and medicines in the department/unit.
– Assist patient in activities of daily living including but not limited to toileting, getting in and out of bed, transporting and turning of patient.
– Provide patient with independence, promote well-being while still remaining under supervised care.
– Providing health education to patients regarding their condition and prevention of complication.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor degree in nursing or Associate degree in Nursing from Canada or USA with minimum two (2) years course duration and Successful completion of the National exam: USA: NCLEX – RN Canada: Licensing Exam, or;
– Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery of minimum three and half (3 ½) years course duration, or;
– Diploma in Nursing of minimum three (3) years course duration
– Not less than 2 years clinical experience post qualification or;
– Not less than 2 year clinical experience in the assigned area of practice
– (Note; Experience requirement waived for graduates of UAE nursing colleges/universities after completion of internship)
– Valid current DOH license
– Valid current license from the country of origin
– Valid Basic Life Support Certificate Accredited by American Heart Association
Other Requirements (Knowledge, skills and abilities):
– Knowledge of current and established professional concepts, principles and practices.
– Expertise in clinical area of practice and skills required to provide care.
– Knowledge and understanding of the diverse cultural customs and religious beliefs of the population being cared for.
– Knowledge of all the Infection Control practices of the United Arab Emirates.
