Bazul LLC is looking for a Singapore-qualified Associate with 0–5 years’ PQE who is keen to build a long-term career in a specialist disputes practice to join our Shipping team.
This role is ideal for a lawyer who wants more than technical exposure — someone who is interested in developing expertise, taking ownership of matters, and contributing to the firm’s growth.
You will:
Work on shipping and maritime disputes, including:
Charterparty and COA disputes
Cargo claims and marine insurance disputes
Ship arrests, collisions, and maritime casualties
Offshore, energy, and trade-related disputes
Act in Singapore court proceedings and international arbitrations (including LMAA, SIAC, SCMA, and ad hoc arbitrations)
Be involved early in strategy, case management, and client advisory work
Learn to manage client relationships and cross-border matters with increasing autonomy
Contribute to the development of the practice as the firm expands into new and evolving areas of shipping and trade disputes
What We’re Looking For
Singapore qualified lawyer with 3–5 years’ PQE
Strong foundation and keen interest in shipping and maritime disputes
Excellent drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills
Arbitration experience preferred, but not mandatory
A growth mindset — commercially aware, proactive, and keen to develop beyond execution work
Commercial awareness and sound business judgement
Demonstrated interest in client relationship management and long-term client engagement
Someone who values quality, collaboration, and long-term professional development
