Job Details

As a Boiler Attendant, you’ll operate, maintain, and oversee steam boilers, air compressors, well water system, reverse osmosis system, and all associated equipment, perform water/chemical treatments, and maintain accurate records. You will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues as necessary.

 

  • Maintain all mechanical components including but not limited to: valves, pumps, steam traps, piping, etc., within the boiler, compressed air, and water treatment systems, as well as associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Perform water testing as needed, on boiler feed-water, condensate, boiler water and plant cooling water.  Adjust chemical feeds to maintain proper levels based on the results of the chemical tests.
  • Prepare water treatment and boiler chemicals as required, in a safe manner, using proper personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records pertaining to systems operation, testing, evaluation, and maintenance, performed on all related equipment.
  • Diagnose and correct operational problems associated with any of the systems in their area of responsibility.
  • Assist and cooperate with outside contractors and vendors in the troubleshooting and repair of all associated equipment.

 

Requirements 

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of experience operating industrial boilers

Other 

  • Experience with water chemistry and testing preferred
  • Experience with air compressors and dryers preferred
